1. The Know It All. Yup, they know everything... or at least they think they do. They can answer any question the professor throws at the class. Most likely the reason they know the answer is because they spend their free time doing additional research on the subject topic, or reading the encyclopedia. However they come about the obscure knowledge they can rattle off at any time is irrelevant because it's annoying. Either the rest of the class thinks they're crazy for knowing so many things, or are jealous of them. Either way, they are probably hated and don't have too many friends (besides their books and laptop).
2. The Suck Up. This might be the most irritating. They do everything from compliment the professor on their outfit, to laughing at their jokes which are rarely funny. Sometimes they even continue their ridiculous behavior outside of class by staying after class or going to office hours every week. Whether they realize it or not, the rest of the class finds their behavior obnoxious and they are making themselves look stupid.
3. The One Who Likes to Hear Themselves Talk. This person, unlike the "Know It All," talks and answers questions the professor asks whether or not they actually know the right answer. They like to hear their own voice. God forbid you get separated into small groups during class and find yourself in a group with one of these. No doubt they will monopolize everything said and you'll be lucky if you get one word in. Are you one of these? Ask yourself these questions: Do I talk more than any of my classmates? Do I raise my hand to answer a question even if I am unsure of the answer? Do classmates roll their eyes when I talk sometimes? If you answered yes to more than one of these, you may be at risk.
4. The Twitcher/ Desk Kicker. There's always a few in every class who twitch. They shake their leg, tap their pen, or fix their hair every five seconds. They twitch. This is linked to the desk kicker. There's also at least one who feels the need to tap their foot against the back of your chair. There's simply no need for it!
5. The One Who's Always Late. Everyone loves that student who comes in late. It's even better when that same student comes in late at least once a week. Usually it goes something like this:
6. The Cheater. No one likes a cheater. You're not subtle. Yes, I notice you casually glancing at my paper. If you're going to cheat you should at least try and get good at it! Or maybe just actually study and then you wouldn't have to cheat in the first place!
7. All of the Above. This is obviously the worst. It is a sick combination of all of the previous mentioned. Usually there's one in at least one class each semester or so. Avoid them at all costs!

ReplyDeleteI honestly think the worst one in my opinion is the one who likes to hear themselves talk. I have many of those in my classes. But there's also the one who asks SO many questions. Literally, they interrupt the professor every 5 minutes to ask a question that he clearly just talked about. Ugh. And then the professor gets confused because he clearly just talked about it but has to repeat himself.
